CLEVELAND, OHIO — Hiram College junior All-Region utility player Kelly Langland (Batavia/McNicholas) has been named this week’s North Coast Athletic Conference softball player of the week.
The Terriers finished the past week with a 2-1 record, including a two-game sweep against Kenyon College in the NCAC opener in Granville.
Langland posted a combined five-of-five effort at the plate in the two wins against the Ladies, including hitting two solo homeruns. For the week, Langland finished with a .714 batting average (five-of-seven) with the two homeruns, four runs scored, two doubles and three RBI.
For the season, Langland is currently third on the team in hitting with a .387 average (24-of-62). She leads the team in doubles (eight) and is tied for the team-lead in homeruns (three). Langland is also tied for second in RBI with 15 and tied for third in runs scored at 16.
Hiram is scheduled to host John Carroll University tomorrow (Wednesday, Apr. 13) in a non-conference doubleheader at Myrtis E. Herndon Field. The first game is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m.
