The Center for Literature and Medicine will present the lecture “Creativity in the Clinic” by writer and physician Jay Baruch at 4:30 p.m. on April 19, 2013, in the Alumni Heritage Room of Teachout-Price.
The lecture will also feature readings by three winners of the William Carlos Williams poetry prize, a competition open to medical students in the U.S. and Canada.
Baruch serves as director of the Program in Clinical Arts and Humanities, co-director of the Medical Humanities and Bioethics Scholarly Concentration, and director of the ethics curriculum at the Warren Alpert Medical School at Brown University. His book Fourteen Stories: Doctors, Patients, and Other Strangers was published by Kent State University Press in 2007.
