On the Hiram Hill, acts of kindness and generosity are common throughout the year. But today especially, the College would like to express appreciation to each of those who often contribute to our campus community––from students, faculty and staff, to alumni donors, and friends of the College.
Why? Today is World Kindness Day, a day celebrated each November 13 that promotes the importance of being kind to each other, to yourself, and to the world. It’s a day devoted to the positive potential of both large and small acts of kindness. The kindness of our donors is evident through the many ways that their gifts have helped to advance and transform our campus.
Take the Hiram College Library for example. It was cutting-edge at the time it was built in 1995, but since information compilation, resource creation, and collaboration have taken center stage, updates were necessary to meet the needs of today’s students. The first floor was identified as the perfect setting to establish a 21st-century learning space for students, faculty, staff, and the regional community alike.
Completion of the renovations occurred in two phases: the first phase was completed last spring and the finishing touches were added to the second phase just last week. This new space was made possible thanks to generous donors. Check it out.
Hiram’s Giving through HC Campaign: November 13 – December 1
Hiram’s campus is a microcosm of our society, representing diverse thought, challenges, and passions. Giving through Hiram College means supporting the people who are working, studying, and elevating those topics you care about right here on our campus. It means preparing our incredible students to tackle and solve tough questions when they graduate.
Starting today, World Kindness Day, through Giving Tuesday on December 1, all gifts to Hiram College will be matched until we reach our goal of $30,000. Learn more and make a gift to Hiram College today.
