Hiram College

This November Election Day will close on a historic election, in which we will choose not only but also our representatives and leaders at the federal, state, and local level. With students looking to participate, Hiram College has put together a series of pre- and post-election events for students to attend. Below is a compiled list. 

Thursday, October 29

NOON — Polling, Turnout, and Getting Involved
Presented by Anthony Lyon, senior and President of Middle Ground.

1 P.M. — Early voting shuttle to Ravenna
Shuttle will leave from the Kennedy Center.

7:30 P.M. — What if Trump wins? What if Biden wins?
Conversation led by D. Ellis Rates and others in Dix Dining Hall. Masks and social distancing required. 

Saturday, October 31

9 A.M. — Early voting shuttle to Ravenna
Shuttle will leave from the Kennedy Center. Masks required. 

Monday, November 2

NOON — How To Watch the Election Returns and What to Expect
Hosted by Ed Frato-Sweeney, Director of Residential Education & Commuter Services and Brad Cromes ’06, Portage County Treasurer. Join via Zoom.

Tuesday, November 3

6:30 A.M. – 7:30 P.M. — Election Day
Polls open in the Hiram College Coleman Center and across the state. Hiram College-specific “I voted” stickers for students will be available. Masks and social distancing required. 

8 P.M. – 11 P.M. — Election Returns Watch Parties
Watch the election results from one of the following locations: Dix Dining Hall (Kennedy Center), Dodge Lounge (The Quad), DeYoung Lounge (Booth-Centennial), East Hall Main Lounge, Miller Hall Main Lounge, Whitcomb Hall Main Lounge, Bowler Hall Fourth Floor Lounge or Henry Hall Main Lounge. Masks and social distancing required. 

Wednesday, November 4

4 P.M. — Discussion of Election Day

8 P.M. — Chapel Service, Where Do We Go From Here?
