Hiram College

Tis the season for end-of-semester projects, family gatherings, reuniting with old friends and lots of shopping. Juggling the many commitments that come with the holiday season may be a balancing act, and the third Healthy Hiram event of the year, “Finding Your Life Balance,” will offer the Hiram community tips on finding a balance during the holiday season and beyond.

The Julia Church Health Center is partnering University Hospitals Geauga Medical Center to present this event at 7 p.m. on Dec. 11, in Dix Dining Hall. The event is open to the public, and students can earn ACES points for attendance.

Registered Nurse Phyllis Shannon will offer attendees tips on how to combat stress and depression with healthy lifestyle changes. After her presentation, Maryanne Reiske will be offering an interactive yoga demonstration.

This event is part of the Healthy Campus 2020 initiative, spearheaded by the American College Health Association.

“We want to educate the students of Hiram College to make better lifestyle choices that will affect them not only physically, but mentally and emotionally as well,” said Marjorie Billock, registered nurse at the Health Center.
