Sophomore Brianne Goodrich (Chesterland/West Geauga) scored a season-high 13 points, but the Hiram College women’s basketball team fell to No. 10-ranked DePauw (Ind.) 85-53 on Saturday afternoon.

The Terriers drop to 6-16 on the season and 2-11 in the NCAC, while the Tigers push their win streak to 17 and improve to 20-1, 13-0.

Goodrich finished 6-of-9 from the field and tied her career-high with three steals. She also had five rebounds.

Freshman Mercedes Jones (Dayton/Ponitz Career Technology Center) added 12 points and sophomore Kayla Yost (Norwalk/Perkins) finished with 10 points and seven rebounds.

Emma Ondik scored a game-high 25 points to lead DePauw.

An early 3-pointer from senior Taylor Ratliff (Berea/Columbia) broke a 4-4 tie and put Hiram in front 7-4.

The Tigers would respond with a 10-2 run to take a 14-9 lead with 14:54 left in the first half.

Hiram would battle back and a layup from Goodrich capped off a quick five point spurt for the Terriers and knotted the score at 17-17 with 13:02 left in the first half.

But DePauw would use runs of 8-0 and 10-0 to take a 49-26 lead into the break.

The Tigers would slowly expand their lead in the second half and Hiram was unable to get within 20 points the rest of the way.

The Terriers finished the game 24-of-60 (40.0 percent) from the field, while DePauw shot 32-of-66 (48.5 percent).

The Tigers outrebounded Hiram 43-36 and held a 35-6 advantage in points off of turnovers.

Hiram will return to action on Wednesday, when it hits the road to take on Wooster at 6 p.m.
