HIRAM, OHIO — Hiram College men’s basketball player and freshman guard Aaron Stefanov (Stow/Stow-Munroe Falls) has been named this week’s North Coast Athletic Conference Player of the Week. [NCAC Men’s Basketball Release]
Stefanov helped the Terriers to a perfect 2-0 record this past week with wins against Grove City (Pa.) College and Case. The Terriers have won their last four games and currently have a 7-4 overall record.
Stefanov averaged 13.0 points per game in the two victories, including a game-high 20 points against Case in which he shot a perfect six-of-six from three-point range. He finished the week shooting 60.0 percent (nine-of-15) from the floor and an impressive 80.0 percent (eight-of-10) from behind the arc. In addition, Stefanov also tallied four assists and a blocked shot.
For the season, Stefanov is fourth on the team in scoring at 8.8 ppg. and is shooting 43.5 percent (30-of-69) from the field. He leads the team in three-pointers made with 22 with a 44.9 shot percentage (22-of-49) and in free-throw shooting at 91.7 percent (11-of-12). In addition, he has recorded eight assists, five steals and two blocks so far in his first season as a Terrier.
Hiram will be idle until Wednesday, Dec. 29 when the Terriers host Muskingum University in a non-conference game at Price Gymnasium. The game is scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m.
