Sophomore Alison Cowell (Bridgeton, Mo./Duchense) scored her second goal of the season, but the Hiram College women’s soccer team fell to Kenyon 2-1 on Saturday afternoon.
The Terriers drop to 5-11-1 on the year and 0-6-1 in NCAC play. The Ladies improve to 8-7-1, 5-1-0.
Cowell’s goal came at the 86:32 mark of the match, when she took a pass from sophomoreKaitlin Zemanski (Munroe Falls/Stow Munroe-Falls) and beat the keeper.
Kenyon scored just 14:10 in the game, when Becca Romaine scored her league leading 11th goal of the season.
In the second half, senior Kelsey Martin (Austintown/Fitch) rocketed a shot in the 59th minute that hit the post.
The Ladies added another goal in the 69th minute.
Junior goalie Kailie Reed (Wadsworth) made eight saves in the contest.
The Ladies outshot the Terriers 25-4 and held a slim 6-5 advantage in corner kicks.
Hiram will return to action on November 1, when it hosts Ohio Wesleyan at Henry Field in its regular season finale. The Terriers will also honor their seniors before the contest.
