Each spring around the time of Commencement, departments across campus honor academic and co-curricular excellence through various events, part of our Celebration of Excellence. These celebrations culminate May 14-15, 2014 in a series of celebrations, where some of the highest honors for the 2013-2014 academic year are bestowed.
Student Leadership Awards
May 14, 2014, 4 p.m., Renner Theater (Frohring Performing Arts Building)
Hiram College will honor its student leaders. Students, faculty and staff have nominated students for the Individual Student Leadership Awards, the Student Organization Awards, Program Awards, Senate Character Value Awards and Greek Council Awards. These honors will be presented during the 4 p.m. ceremony.
Alpha Society Dinner (by invitation only)
May 14, 2014, 5:30 p.m., Kennedy Center second floor
The Alpha Society is one of Hiram College’s highest academic honors. Membership is limited to students who have completed 12 or more hours of graded coursework at Hiram College and whose cumulative grade point average is 3.75 or better. This dinner is open by invitation only.
Honors Recognition Program
May 14, 2014, 6:30 p.m., Hayden Auditorium
Senior Alpha Society members will be recognized, and some of the College’s highest honors will be presented: the President’s Achievement Award, the Dively Award, the Hal Reichle Memorial Award, the Nancy Moeller Award, the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Award, the Yuksel Ismail Scholarship in Humanities, ODK National Leadership members and Phi Beta Kappa members.
Senior Athletic Banquet (by invitation only)
May 15, 2014, 6 p.m., Dining Hall
The Hiram College community will recognize our seniors’ accomplishments and their contributions to teammates, coaches and fellow student athletes. This banquet is open by invitation only.
