One Hiram professor isn’t taking a break this summer. Professor of Art Linda Bourassa is busy curating an art exhibition at Heights Arts Gallery in Cleveland Heights.
“Lake Effects” showcases how Lake Erie defines our culture. The show, which runs from June 11 to July 24, presents a collective body of work by several regional photographers who individually have reacted to the lake in a variety of media. It is curated by Bourassa and features 12 of her pieces as well. It also includes work by Lori Kella, Michael Loderstedt, Gary Marmolya, Cynthia Penter, Renee Psiakis, Garie Waltzer, Darrin McDonald and Scott Ditzenberger.
“Out of Place,” a movie about surfing on Lake Erie by Darrin McDonald and Scott Ditzenberger, will be shown at a Saturday matinee, July 24, at the Cedar Lee Theatre.
An opening reception for the exhibit will take place on Friday, June 11, from 6 to 9 p.m. Gallery hours are 1:30 to 9:30 p.m. Thursday through Saturday or by appointment.
