John Coyne ’95, Hiram College’s Director of Alumni Relations, has been elected to serve as president of the Independent College Advancement Associates for the 2014-15 fiscal year.
ICAA is made up of college advancement professionals from 90 different institutions in Ohio and bordering states. Its mission is to enhance the professional development of its members and their understanding of issues facing private higher education and institutional advancement. Hiram College was one of the founding institutions in 1958, and Coyne is the fourth Hiram College staff member to serve as president.
As president-elect of the organization, Coyne will be the chair of the 2014 summer conference, which attracts around 20 sponsors and approximately 120 alumni relations and development professionals.
“Since our member institutions are not competing for the same (alumni base), ICAA provides us with the unique opportunity to share best practices among our peers without hurting our competitive edge,” Coyne said.
