Michael Barber joined the Terriers from Guion Creek Middle School in Indianapolis, Ind., where he served as a swim coach for the past year and a half. Under Barber’s tenure, the Jaguars broke two school records and the girls’ team won the Middle School Conference meet.
Previously, Barber has also spent the last five years as a pool manager in Indianapolis, overseeing the maintenance of over 16 city pools, running swim lessons for 300+ children and heading up all of the park’s swim teams.
A 2019 graduate of Hiram College, Barber was a four-year letter winner for the Terriers, helping the team earn USA Swimming Team Academic All-America status in 2018 and 2019. Additionally, Barber earned the Team GPA award in 2017, 2018 and 2019 and was named the Team MVP in 2017 and 2018.
Outside of the pool, Barber was a member of Hiram’s Student-Athlete Advisory Committee and the Exercise Science Club.
