Kyle Kelvington

Vocal Lesson Instructor

An active performer and music educator, Kyle teaches Voice at Hiram College, directs Theatre and Choir at Archbishop Hoban High School, maintains a private studio, and serves as Organist and Music Director at Pilgrim UCC in Cuyahoga Falls. Opera roles include: Sam Kaplan in Street Scene with Nightingale Opera Theatre, Damien in the premiere of Verlorene Heimat at Hiram College, Strephon in Iolanthe, Karl in Victor Herbert’s Sweethearts, Dr. Miracle in Bizet’s Le docteur Miricale, and Anthony in Sweeney Todd at Kent State University, as well as Don Ottavio in Don Giovanni and Parpignol in La Bohème with the Cleveland Opera, and Sven in scenes from Coal Creek with Cleveland Opera Theatre. Other performance credits include chamber music and guest soloist appearances with Chamber Music Society of Ohio, the Cleveland Women’s Orchestra, Singer’s Companye, Case Western Reserve University, Mount Union College, Hiram College, the Black River String Quartet, Kent Blossom Music Festival, the Tuscarawas Philharmonic, and the Historic First Congregational Church of Akron where he served as tenor soloist form 2006-2016. 

Education:

  • Master of Music in Vocal Performance at Kent State University (2017), while studying with Tim Culver.
  • Bachelor of Music in Music History and Literature is from the University of Akron (2008), where he studied voice with Valerie Thorson.
