Assistant Athletic Trainer

Kayla Jackson entered her first year as an assistant athletic trainer with the Terriers in 2021-22, having joined Hiram College from William Penn University in Oskaloosa, Iowa, where she served as a graduate assistant athletic trainer for the past two years. During her two years at William Penn, Jackson worked as the head athletic trainer with the Statesmen bowling, shotgun, women’s soccer, softball and men’s volleyball teams, managing and administering treatment and rehabilitation for acute and chronic injuries.
 
During her time at William Penn, Jackson also worked as an athletic trainer at North Mahaska High School from Aug. 2019 to Jan. 2021 and Kinetic Edge Physical Therapy from Nov. 2020 to May 2021, serving as the head athletic trainer for numerous sports at local Oaskaloosa high schools, including football and wrestling at North Mahaska and basketball and wrestling at Eddyville Blakesburg Freemont.
 
In addition, Jackson’s spent two summers at Woodward Camp in Woodward, Pennsylvania, most recently serving as the athletic training supervisor this past June for the extreme sports camp, providing necessary injury and wound care for extreme sports for 400-800 campers a week.
 
A 2019 graduate of the University of Akron, Jackson spent three years in the Zips’ Athletic Training Program, working clinical rotations with Akron’s NCAA Division I football, women’s soccer, softball and track and field programs, as well as stints at Walsh Jesuit High School in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio and the PT Center in Fairlawn, Ohio.
