Kathy Luschek has worked with the Garfield Institute from its inception in 2006. She is responsible for all logistics relating to the Institute’s programs. She assists the directors in programming for the Garfield Scholars and in recruiting others who will work with the Institute. Luschek also is the Programming Coordinator for Hiram College’s other Centers of Distinction.

She gained experience in organizing events, fundraising, administrative and organizational leadership serving as executive director of the Cuyahoga County Democratic Party, managing issue campaigns and directing the State of Ohio Treasurer’s Cleveland Office. All of these positions brought her in contact with governmental and elected leaders.

She served as a U.S. Peace Corps volunteer in Lithuania for two years and following her service worked as a Peace Corps economic and organizational development trainer in Estonia and Moldova. After returning home, she became the executive director and instructor for the Executive Training Program for the American Language Academy.
