Emliss Ricks, B.S.
Land Stewardship Manager, James H. Barrow Biological Field Station

Contact
Following a thirty five year career with ODNR, Division of Natural Areas and Preserves as a regional preserve manager, I began working at the field station in August of 2011 as a station steward, working on projects including site restoration, invasives removal, trail and facilities improvements, and interpretive signage. My career background has made my work here an easy transition from my earlier endeavors, but this is by far, the most fun work situation I’ve ever had. My experience includes wetlands studies, rare species protection and monitoring in a number of differing habitats throughout the state of Ohio. In my spare time I enjoy looking at birds and plants, playing and collecting stringed instruments and model trains, and enjoying grandchildren.
