Dr. Kevin Feisthamel received his Bachelor’s degree from The University of Connecticut, Master’s degree from John Carroll University and Doctorate degree from The University of Akron. Dr. Feisthamel completed his clinical internship in the Department of Psychiatry/Psychology at The Cleveland Clinic with rotations in Health Psychology, Alcohol and Drug Recovery and Consultation Liaison Psychiatry. Dr. Feisthamel has over ten years of clinical experience working with college students, adults, teenagers, couples and families. In 2014, Dr. Feisthamel was awarded the ‘Outstanding Practitioner Award’ by Chi Sigma Iota, the counseling honorary society at The University of Akron for his accomplishments as a clinician, educator and a supervisor. Dr. Feisthamel is a member of the American Counseling Association, American Psychological Association and American College Counseling Association.  Dr. Feisthamel has worked at a university counseling center, community mental health agency as well as the Department of Psychiatry/Psychology, Department of Neurology and Department of Neuropsychology (Mellen Center) at The Cleveland Clinic. Dr. Feisthamel has held adjunct professor positions at Northeast Ohio’s Medical University (NEOMED), John Carroll University and The University of Akron. Dr. Feisthamel has twenty-five publications, four funded grants and over one-hundred presentations at the international, national, state and local levels. Dr. Feisthamel created Hiram College’s first counseling internship program for doctoral and masters’-level graduate students and is founder, creator and advisor to the Active Minds chapter at Hiram College.  Dr. Feisthamel’s passion is to provide and advocate for the best quality of care for his clients and to provided resources, kindness and guidance to all. In addition, Dr. Feisthamel strives to bring mental health awareness to Hiram’s campus and its’ surrounding communities.
