Dan Summers joined Hiram College as the vice president for enrollment management in June 2019. In this role, Mr. Summers oversees the operations, staff, and budget for the Admission Office for the traditional college and the Center for Adult Studies, as well as the Office of Financial Aid. His experience in shaping strategies to maximize collaboration across the campus are critical as the College continues to develop and implement new enrollment initiatives. Mr. Summers believes deeply in the value of a small private college education and the important role it plays in society.
Mr. Summers has over than ten years of experience in higher education, with the majority of his career focused in admissions. Before coming to Hiram, Mr. Summers served as the vice president for enrollment management at Southern Vermont College (SVC). Prior to that role, he occupied the post of vice president and dean of admissions at the same college. While at SVC, Mr. Summers modernized several functions of the financial aid and admission offices, including the following: streamlining the College’s financial aid packaging, introducing a dedicated Transfer Student Services department, and developing an enhanced marketing plan. In addition, he was an active participant in the state’s admission organization.
Mr. Summers earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology from the Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts in North Adams, Ma. He currently serves as their Alumni Association president.
