FIRESIDE CHAT SEMINAR: A Woman, a Passion, a Mission! with Xyla Foxlin, student, entrepreneur and woman with a mission
Xyla strives to be the woman she wish she had to look up to growing up: passionate and invested in what she does technically, but also maintaining femininity and external interests like fashion and art. After years of being told girls can’t build robots or fly airplanes (she does both), Xyla tries to spend as much time volunteering with elementary school girls to make sure they don’t feel the same way. She is CEO and founder of Parihug, a startup that makes electronically-connected teddy bears; producer and host of Beauty and the Bolt, an online village where anyone can learn physics, math, engineering, making, and more; and a student majoring in mechanical and aerospace engineering at Case Western Reserve University. Come hear Xyla share her entrepreneurial life!
Join us every Wednesday evening for an hour or two of stimulating conversation with entrepreneurs and entrepreneurial thinkers! If you have ever wondered how businesses or organizations get started, here’s the chance to find out. The seminars run from September 5 through November 14 (no speakers on September 12 or November 7).
Each Wednesday an entrepreneur will tell their story. Some of these entrepreneurs may be well seasoned; some may be just starting out. Hear how they did it…what they did right…what they might do differently, and what they might do next! This semester our focus is on technology, the College’s theme for the year.
