Arboretum Scavenger Hunt and Tree ID contest

Have you seen our new Arboretum signs? Take some time to visit them all in this Arboretum scavenger hunt. Each of the 50 signs on main campus will have a metal tag on the back with a random number. Fill out this form with the answers any time between Monday, September 11 and Thursday, September 14. Every tree you submit gets you one entry into a raffle for a variety of tree-themed prizes. Plus, the first five people to submit all 50 will get a voucher for a free t-shirt at the upcoming Apple Cider Festival.

Feeling confident in your tree identification skills? Head over to the Grand Oak Trail (behind Bonney Castle) any time between Monday, September 11 and Thursday, September 14 and find the trees along the trail with numbers attached. Fill out the form with your ID for each tree, and get an entry into a raffle for Sibley’s Field Guide to Trees for each correct answer. Plus, anyone who gets 100 percent correct will have a tree planted on campus in their honor. Don’t want to go alone? Meet at Bonney Castle on Monday at 5 p.m. for a guided version.
