Hiram College

The College has put precautionary measures in place to keep the campus community as safe as possible. Proven by the College’s success during the 2020-21 academic year, students can keep themselves and others safe by following health and safety precautions.

Indoor Mask Mandate

As of Nov. 29, 2021, the College has an indoor mask mandate in place for everyone, regardless of vaccination status, while inside public areas. The College implemented this mask mandate to reduce the possible spread of infection that might occur due to large, in-person gatherings.

Students do not need to wear a mask when inside their residence hall room, working alone in an enclosed space, and actively eating or drinking in the Dining Hall or Bistro.

Students also do not need to wear face coverings outdoors, but it is encouraged that everyone, regardless of vaccination status, wear a face covering outdoors in large group settings when distancing cannot be maintained.

The Health Center strongly suggests that all community members wear masks when off campus in indoor public areas.

See the COVID-19 Section of the Student Handbook 2021-2022 for more information.

Provide Your Vaccination and Testing Information

Any student who needs to submit or update their vaccination information, or any student who needs to provide COVID-19 testing information, can do so using this online form. Information will be sent directly to the Julia Church Health Center.

Students with questions should contact the Health Center at healthcenter@hiram.edu.

Student Isolation Plans

For the spring 2022 semester, students should discuss with family members and friends where they could isolate off campus should they test positive for COVID-19 at any point. Students should identify where they could isolate, how they will travel to that location, and how they will obtain groceries or meals while in isolation.

On-campus isolation spaces are very limited. Any student who can return to their residence in five hours or less will be asked to isolate away from campus.
