Dear Students, Faculty, and Staff,
Due to concerns over COVID-19 virus, and after the North Coast Athletic Conference and National Collegiate Athletic Association decisions to cancel all spring sports championships, Hiram College has canceled all spring athletic competition, effective March 14, 2020.
This cancellation applies to all athletic competitions and practices, including men’s volleyball, Cheer and STUNT, men’s and women’s lacrosse, softball, baseball, and men’s and women’s golf, in addition to the suspension of non-traditional seasons for other sports. Considerations on any possible team activities during the Hiram College three-week term will be made in the near future. Camps and clinics scheduled for Hiram College athletic facilities through April 22, are also canceled.
In addition, the Coleman Center, including the Coach Steve Belichick Olympic Training Center, Paul Martin Fieldhouse, Price and Fleming Gymnasiums, and the racquetball courts, will be closed until further notice. For students remaining on campus, we will encourage the use of our outdoor facilities for remaining active through April 22. Options for students in utilizing these outdoor facilities will be further discussed and promoted in the coming days.
