The Office of Community Service offers students the opportunity to participate in Hiram’s annual Habitat for Humanity trip working with social service agencies, or students may plan a student-led trip to a designation of their choosing. Some past locations have included Washington D.C., Massachusetts, New Orleans, Milwaukee and North Carolina.
Hiram College students have been volunteering with Habitat For Humanity since 1970, spending a week working with other colleges and volunteers. Students and faculty often get to meet the families who will live in the home they are building.
In recent years, Hiram College’s Habitat for Humanity chapter has established a partnership at a site in High Point, N.C. Students work on Habitat homes and in a Habitat Re-Store facility. For more information on how to join or lead a trip, please contact the Office of Community Service.
