9:30 a.m. Nurse Pinning Ceremony (Hayden Auditorium, Bates Hall)
10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Bookstore Open (Kennedy Center)
10:30 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. Brunch Reception (Dining Hall)
11:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Family Activities (Formal Lounge, Kennedy Center)
12:30 p.m. Class Picture in cap and gown (Bates Hall steps)
1:00 p.m. Student Line-up in cap and gown (Fleming Field House, Coleman Center)
2:00 p.m. Commencement (Martin Field House, Coleman Center)
Please note that tickets are required to attend the Commencement Exercises in Martin Field House. All graduates must register for tickets by May 1. Ticket packets will be available to pick up at the Kennedy Center Welcome Desk starting May 11 until May 15 during scheduled hours. Graduating students and faculty that are in the procession do NOT need a ticket for Commencement in Martin Field House. Please refer to Registration and Tickets for details.
Phi Beta Kappa
Phi Beta Kappa membership has long been recognized as the highest distinction an individual can receive for scholarly excellence in undergraduate studies in the liberal arts and sciences. Founded in 1776, Phi Beta Kappa is the nation’s oldest undergraduate honors society. The official induction ceremony into Phi Beta Kappa will take place Saturday, May 16 at 8:30 a.m. in Dix Dining Hall, located in the Kennedy Center.
Nursing Pinning Ceremony
The Department of Nursing will host a ceremonial pinning for the B.S.N. Class of 2020 on Saturday, May 16 at 9:30 a.m. in Hayden Auditorium, located in Bates Hall. All are welcome.
The brunch reception will be held between 10:30 a.m. and 1:15 p.m. in the Hiram College Dining Hall. Students and their guests are invited to attend and visit with faculty, staff and friends prior to the Commencement ceremony. Tickets are required. Bookstore and Family Activities
Shop at the Bookstore in the Kennedy Center for Hiram College items that students will enjoy and have to reminisce about their days spent “on the hill.” Visit the Kennedy Center Main Lounge for a number of family friendly activities.
All graduating students need to be at the Bates Hall steps in cap and gown by 12:30 p.m. to be a part of the class picture.
All graduating students MUST be at Fleming Field House in cap and gown no later than 1:00 p.m. for line-up.
The location for the Commencement exercises is Martin Field House in the Coleman Sports Center. A live simulcast of the ceremony may be shown in Price Gym if ticket distribution calls for it.
