9:30 a.m. Graduating Nurse Pinning Ceremony (Hayden Auditorium, Bates Hall)
10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Bookstore Open (Kennedy Center)
10:30 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. Brunch Reception (Dining Hall)
11:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Family Activities (Formal Lounge, Kennedy Center)
12:30 p.m. Class Picture in cap and gown (Bates Hall steps)
1:00 p.m. Student Line up in cap and gown (Fleming Field House)
2:00 p.m. Commencement (Martin Field House and simulcast location Price Gym)
Please note that tickets are required to attend the commencement exercises in Martin Field House. All graduates must register for tickets by April 26. Ticket packets will be available for traditional students and faculty/staff to pick up at the Kennedy Center Welcome Desk starting May 6 until May 10 during scheduled hours. Professional & Graduate Studies students’ tickets will be available for pick up through the Office of Professional & Graduate Studies during normal office hours starting on May 3. The graduating students and faculty that are in the procession do NOT need a ticket for Commencement in Martin Field House. Please refer to Registration and Tickets for details.
Phi Beta Kappa
Phi Beta Kappa membership has long been recognized as the highest distinction an individual can receive for scholarly excellence in undergraduate studies in the liberal arts and sciences. Founded in 1776, Phi Beta Kappa is the nation’s oldest undergraduate honors society. The official induction ceremony into Phi Beta Kappa will take place Saturday, May 11 at 8:30 a.m. in Dix Dining Hall. Kennedy Center.
The Department of Nursing will host a ceremonial pinning for the B.S.N. Class of 2019 on Saturday, May 11 at 9:30 a.m. in the Hayden Auditorium located in Bates Hall. All are welcome.
The brunch reception will be held between 10:30 a.m. and 1:15 p.m. in the Hiram College Dining Hall. Students and their guests are invited to attend and visit with faculty, staff and friends prior to the Commencement ceremony. Tickets are required. Family Activities and Bookstore
Come join the fun activities before and after you attend the brunch. Stop by the Bookstore between 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. for Hiram College items that students will enjoy and have to reminisce about their days spent ‘on the hill.’ Visit the Kennedy Center Main Lounge area to create photo buttons or have your caricature drawn from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. A roving magician will be on hand from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m.
All graduating students need to be at the Bates Hall steps in cap and gown by 12:30 p.m. to be a part of the class picture.
Student Line up
All graduating students MUST be at Fleming Field House in cap and gown no later than 1:00 p.m. for line up, or risk not marching.
The Saturday, May 11 location for the Commencement exercises is in Martin Field House at the Coleman Sports Center. A live simulcast of the ceremony will also be shown in Price Gym. Tickets are required for the Commencement ceremony in Martin Field House and must be registered for in advance by April 26, 2019 through the Registration and Ticket process.
