Applying for financial aid doesn’t have to be complicated. The checklist below outlines the steps you need to complete to receive financial aid. If you need any assistance along the way, we are here to help! Contact us at or by calling 330-569-5107.

Follow the steps below to complete the financial aid process. View a PDF of this checklist.

✔ Complete the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) and include Hiram College’s school code 003049 in the school section.

✔ Complete verification– if you’ve been selected for verification, you will need to submit documentation to the Financial Aid Office electronically. Learn more about the verification process.

✔ Review and Accept your award letter – once you have been awarded financial aid, you will receive an email. You can view and accept your financial aid award online via Web for Students, Hiram’s online portal. Detailed instructions on how to navigate the financial aid section of Web for Students can be found in this guide.

✔ Complete Loan requirements – if you have accepted federal student loans and you are borrowing Direct Loans for the first time, you need to complete both of the following:

  1. Entrance Loan Counseling
  2. Master Promissory Note (MPN)

✔ Payment arrangements – if you have a balance after your financial aid, you will need to make payment arrangements. Payment options can be found here or by calling and speaking with someone in the Financial Aid Office. You can see your account balance via your eBill.

✔ Working on Campus – if you are interested in working on campus, whether through federal work-study or campus employment, you can find out more about that here.

✔ Reapply for financial aid each year – the FAFSA must be completed every year and is available October 1st.
