Financial Aid Application Process
At Hiram, we keep the process simple. Complete the FAFSA. Be admitted to the college. Get your financial aid offer.
We also know that sometimes it doesn’t feel that simple. That’s why we’re here to help you every step of the way. If you have any questions or need any help, please let us know. We look forward to helping you through your financial journey at Hiram.
For new students, we begin sending out initial financial aid offers by the end of November, provided the two steps below are met. We recommend students complete the FAFSA by November 1st to be included with the first round of award letters sent at the end of November. Applications received after that are reviewed and mailed on a rolling basis.
For returning students, we begin sending out renewal awards in early spring once we receive your FAFSA. We recommend students complete the FAFSA over the term break between the Fall and Spring semesters to be included with the first round of award letters. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis thereafter.
STEP ONE: Complete the FAFSA
To be considered for all sources of financial aid, including institutional need-based grants, federal and state aid, students must complete FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid), which is completed online at https://studentaid.gov/.
You need to include HIRAM COLLEGE’S SCHOOL CODE (003049) in the school section so that Hiram receives your information from the U.S. Department of Education.
You should apply for financial aid as soon as possible AFTER October 1st of the year prior to when will start at Hiram College.
