The Integrated Major
Many colleges talk about “integrative learning,” but Hiram is one of the few small colleges to create an entire academic structure that fuels such learning. Hiram has created a structure where students in like majors are part of a “School.” The School offers courses that prompt you to make connections between ideas and concepts from different disciplines.
As you learn how the theories and methods from your major can shed fresh insight on a topic or issue you are exploring from another disciplinary perspective, your understanding of the topic widens and deepens at the same time.
Students can choose from 29 majors and 38 minors offered in these five schools:
- Arts, Humanities & Culture
- Education, Civic Leadership, & Social Change
- Health & Medical Humanities
- Scarborough School of Business & Communication
- Science & Technology
