Class Schedules can be found on my.Hiram. You will need your Alternative Pin (ALT Pin) from your advisor to register.

  1. Click on Student Access in Self-Service from the Student drop down menu on my.Hiram.
  2. Then click on Register for Classes and Register for Classes in the next window.
  3. Select the term, click Continue.
  4. Once the term has been selected, you have 2 options.
    • Find Classes using Search Criteria (subject, course number, keyword, part of term, etc.)
      • Enter search criteria and click search
      • Courses matching your search criteria will appear in a list.
      • Once you find a section that fits your schedule, click Add
      • If you wish to register for more sections, click Search Again and repeat steps
    • Enter CRNs (Course Reference Numbers) found on the schedule
      • Enter CRN and click Add to Summary
      • If you wish to add more CRNs, click Add Another CRN and repeat the above step
    • The top pane allows you to search for classes and enter CRNs. The bottom panes show schedule summary information in a calendar format on the left and the summary view on the right. As classes are added from the top pane, they are first added to the schedule Summary in a “Pending” status, like a shopping cart. This allows you to see how the class would fit with their current class schedule before attempting to register for the class. Students can also drop classes from here.
  5. To process registration, click Submit in the course summary pane.

If there are issues with the class(es) selected, an error message will appear at the top right of the screen. The error message details why you cannot add a course. Please follow up with your advisor if you have any questions about why you received an error message.

RESPECTING STUDENT PRIVACY

Hiram College is committed to the protection and confidentiality of student educational records, adhering closely to the guidelines established by the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA)—a federal legislation established to regulate access to and maintenance of student education records.

FERPA affords student certain rights with respect to their education records, including the right to inspect their education records, request an amendment of the records that the student believes are inaccurate, and the right to control disclosures of their records except to the extent that FERPA authorizes disclosure without consent. (It is important to note that all rights to access move to the student when that student is in a post secondary education institution; parents, spouses, and significant others have no inherent right to access to student educational records.)

The following links contain additional information related to Directory Information, FERPA, and the Annual Notification of Student Rights under FERPA:
