The biomedical humanities major gave me structured requirements for research, job shadowing and volunteering in health care, which confirmed the path I wanted to take in medicine. This made me a strong applicant. The humanities classes I took prepared me to think differently about my patients. This made me a unique applicant. The incredible mentorship through Hiram’s personable faculty made me believe that I could be more than an applicant. I could be a doctor.
