Outstanding Nursing Facilites

The second floor of Teachout-Price Hall was totally renovated to accommodate the nursing program. The construction materials used for the renovation included many green and environmentally-friendly materials such as marmoleum and sky lights. In addition to faculty and staff offices, there is a reception area, conference room, and a student lounge, which supports communal learning and socialization.

The formal instructional area consists of three classrooms: one that seats 60, one that seats 30 and one that seats 20. Additionally, there is a seminar room with a folding wall to allow for conversion to two smaller seminar rooms. All areas have mobile furniture, allowing for configurations that best fit the needs of the class. These areas are all equipped with state-of- the-art instructional technology, including Apple TVs with either a projection system with drop-down screen, or flat-panel screen with the AV console.

The highlight of the facility is the Clinical Learning Center (CLC) which includes an eight-bed acute care unit, an eight-station ambulatory unit, and a simulated intensive care room. This high tech room contains video equipment and houses a wireless Sim-Man and Sim-Baby. In the CLC, students have the opportunity to experience reality-like experiences in the safe environment of simulation. The CLC is also outfitted with specialized equipment including interactive manikins, a ceiling-mounted patient lift, and various other technology and equipment, which enable students to develop and master the nursing skill set required for quality patient care.
