The rigor, depth and diversity of Hiram’s economics major helps our students secure positions in the nation’s top graduate programs and with some of the country’s most well-respected organizations. Recent graduates have gone on to graduate programs in economics, finance, urban planning, hospital administration, law and business administration. New alumni have earned positions with the U.S. Treasury, the Environmental Protection Agency, insurance companies, management consulting firms and major banks.
Career opportunities exist at the federal, state and local government levels. In addition, careers are available with many regional and multi-jurisdictional agencies and consulting firms. In addition, many private corporations and consulting firms employ individuals in the area of government relations.
The focus is appropriate for students whose career interests are in international finance, personal investment, monetary theory, banking, politics, and/or government policies.
