Hiram College

Emerging Scholars

HELLO AND WELCOME!

Welcome to the Hiram College. My name is Stephanie Simpson and I am Director of the Emerging Scholars Program. As you take a look around this site you will find that the program is an excellent opportunity for students to receive structured, individualized support that will enhance their overall performance and adjustment to college life. In addition to meeting regularly with me, students will work closely with a cohort of peers and have access to upper-class peer mentors, who have participated in the Emerging Scholars program and are now thriving in their chosen majors, in campus leadership, and service at Hiram.

My role at Director is multifaceted, but I am most enjoy working with students to help them begin the process of developing and achieving their educational, personal, and future career goals. One of the many things that I love about Hiram is that, as a new student, you are not expected to have all of the answers when you arrive to campus. We will help you find the answers and so much more!

Last, please know that it will be my privilege to assist you in your journey toward personal discovery and success at Hiram. The first year of college is full of excitement, nervous and extreme growth all of these emotions can also be a bit overwhelming. I will be with you as a guide, mentor, motivator, and as a key part of your Hiram support system. I look forward to learning more about you and am excited to assist you in becoming an active part of the Hiram College community.
