Scholars

Trey is a senior majoring in Biomedical Humanities with minors in Chemistry and Public Health. He aspires to be a pediatric physician who practices medicine, and contributes to the medical community with his interests in research and leadership. In addition to being a member of the GCPL, he is an Eclectic Scholar, President of Medicus, and Vice President of CRUSH. During his junior year, Trey served as President of the Hiram College Student Senate.

Julia is a junior planning to major in Nursing with a minor in Biomedical Humanities. She hopes to focus on the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit or pediatrics. Julia enjoys playing softball and ran her own pitching clinic. She has also volunteered at many events in her home town.

Makayla is a junior that majors in Creative Writing. She is a Course Assistant and is learning how to become a Writing Assistant as well. She hopes to become an author someday to spread more representation. She enjoys attending Diversity Forums and learning about other people’s culture.

Jacob is a junior leaning toward majoring in History or English. He is a member of the men’s basketball team.

Wyatt has yet to declare a major. He is leaning toward Chemistry and Physics, and teacher licensure. He has an interest in both science and politics and hopes to use the skills learned at Hiram and the GCPL in order to better educate his future students and hopefully reforming and improving our nation’s education.

Amanda is a junior pursuing a plural degree in Neuroscience and Chemistry. She plays tenor saxophone in the Hiram Howl pep band, wind ensemble, and jazz band. She also is the Chemistry Club president. After earning her B.A., Amanda plans to go to graduate school hoping one day to enter a neurochemistry research program.

Noah is a senior majoring in Biology, planning to declare a minor in Chemistry and Public Health. He is a member of Veticus, Medicus, and the men’s soccer team. He works at the James H. Barrow Field Station in charge of the filtration system. Noah has been debating between veterinary medicine, pharmacology and research after Hiram.

Ashley Hennen is a senior nursing student who plans to be a medical surgical unit nurse after graduation. Ashley’s career goals include becoming an ICU nurse and going back to school to become a Nurse Practitioner. In her free time, Ashley enjoys spending time with her friends and family.

My name is Gabriel (Blaze) Farthing, I am Political Science major in my Junior year. I am currently a team captain of the Hiram College men’s swim team, and I will also be a representative for the Student-Athlete advisory committee.

Marisa is a psychology major, with a minor in management. After graduation she hopes to pursue a career in human resources. In addition to GCPL, she is also a member of Student Senate and Psi Chi.

Joshua is a junior pursuing a degree in Nursing and a minor in Biomedical Humanities. He plays guitar for the Hiram Jazz and the Hiram Howl Pep Band. He actively participates in mission programs to assist in rebuilding homes of people living below the poverty line. Joshua after earning his B.S.N plans to work in either Emergency Medicine or as a Psychiatric Nurse.

I am a sophomore and planning on majoring in Art and Design with minors in Entrepreneurship and Classical and Medieval Studies. I am an Eclectic Scholar and have been a part of Garfield Presidency Scholars, Chamber Singers, and High Performance Program.

Derek is planning on majoring in political science. He is an offensive lineman on the football team. Derek plans on attending a graduate school program after graduating.

Jaiden is a sophomore majoring in nursing. She has a special interest in women’s healthcare and plans to specialize in Labor and Delivery. She has a long-term goal to earn her Master of Science in Nursing to become a Midwife. Jaiden also enjoys playing golf and hopes to play this year on the Hiram team. Jaiden has a passion for traveling and is interested in minoring in Spanish. When she’s not studying, you can find her at home with her two dogs Isobel and Murphy.
