Since its founding in 1984, the Friends of the Library group has contributed more than half a million dollars in support of the library. Friends of the Library strive to meet the changing scholarly and educational needs of the future, including the new learning, research and recreational needs of the faculty, students and staff. The Friends also pursue ways to meet the needs of members residing in the surrounding Hiram community.
An independent community bookstore established in 1968 and located in Hudson, Ohio, about halfway between Cleveland and Akron, The Learnéd Owl has three floors of books for all ages and interests, from classic picture books to travel guides to the latest New York Times best-sellers. The Learnéd Owl offers an out-of-print search service and can order books that aren’t in stock.
