Laura Peskin, an almost lifelong Greater-Clevelander, in addition to her respected book series, “Deep Cover Cleveland,” has contributed to Ohio Archaeologist, the Ohio Cardinal and View from the Overlook (journal of the Cleveland Heights Historical Society). Her writings have also been linked to research websites around Cleveland such as Bluestone Heights.
Peskin became interested in “deep cover” Northeast Ohio through her fascination with our country’s Native American heritage. She pursued Native American studies with professors of Indian background at the University of California, as well as with field and classroom work at Prescott College, which is located near several Arizona reservations.
Peskin started her own business in the 1990s. She then worked for B. Dalton Bookseller and the Western Reserve Historical Society book and gift shop. She later earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from John Carroll University.
