Irv Korman

Actor, magician, clown, teacher and entertainment writer are a few words to describe author Irv Korman.

Born and raised in Akron, Ohio, Irv earned a Bachelor's and Master’s Degree from The University of Akron. He was a speech pathologist for Akron Public Schools and a senior lecturer in The School of Communication at The University of Akron.

As a freelance writer and theater critic, Irv interviewed and reviewed many famous entertainers appearing in the Northeast Ohio area, writing for local publications that resulted in two books: “I Was Jerry Lewis’ Bodyguard for 10 Minutes and Other Celebrity Encounters” (2011) and “I Was Jackie Mason’s Chauffeur for 5 Minutes and More Celebrity Encounters” (2013).

Last December, Irv had published a children’s Christmas story, “Citytown Christmas Conundrum.”

Irv has been married to wife Francine for 46 years. They have two daughters, Julie and Melanie.
