Off-Campus Study

Hiram students go places. The College offers Hiram students distinct off-campus study programs that couple the extensive knowledge of Hiram faculty with the rich learning opportunities that are available only through first-person experiences.

Many U.S. colleges coordinate their off-campus study through programs offered by larger universities. At Hiram, students travel alongside their professors to destinations on six continents. By designing their own travel itineraries, Hiram faculty members have the independence to address specific scholastic issues that they then can explore more extensively through visits to cultural, historic, and educational sites.

Additionally, Hiram students have the opportunity to participate in exchange programs that the College maintains with three international universities:

  • Bosphorus University in Istanbul, Turkey,
  • Kansai Gadai University in Osaka, Japan, and
  • John Cabot University in Rome, Italy.
Through these exchange programs, all academic credits earned at these universities are fully transferable to Hiram.  The diversity, flexibility, and accessibility of our off-campus study program explains why almost 50 percent of Hiram students study off-campus during their academic careers, more than twice the national average.
