Art for Older Kids
June 9-13, 2014, from 1-3 p.m.
Middle School students will explore the surreal as they create sur-realistic comics, carve stamps to print on their t-shirts (or other apparel) and create large scale paintings. They will also explore life drawing with people and puppies. We will work on blending with watercolor pencils and drawing more realistically. Students should bring a white or light colored shirt (or pillowcase or tote bag) for printmaking. The camp will culminate in an art show on Friday for family and friends. Each student will also make a sketchbook to continue drawing in the rest of the year.
Location: Gelbke Art Building, Hiram College
Instructor: Libby Frato-Sweeney, Garrettsville Art Teacher, Hiram College students
