Hiram Robotics Academy
July 7-10, 2014 (Residential)
Age: Rising sophomores, juniors and seniors, with preference given to juniors and seniors
Have you ever wanted to build your own robot and program it to do what you want? Come to the Hiram Robotics Academy and learn to program two different types of robots, both in the Java programming language. The Finch robot is already constructed and has several sensors for measuring the world. Learn to control this robot to accomplish different challenges starting on day 1. You will also design and build your own Lego Mindstorms NXT robot. Attach sensors and motors that you need for the project you choose, then program it in the same Java programming language. On the last day of the academy, show off your creations to the other participants, guests and your families.
Hiram College will award a $1,000 scholarship to every high school student who attends a 2014 summer academy and enrolls as a full time student at Hiram College. Renewable up to four years. (Potential of $4,000 total in scholarship award.)
