Science, Nature and Technology Academies

Hiram College will offer five academies in science, nature and technology, during Summer 2014, designed for high school students interested in applying their skills and knowledge to real world topics. 

Hiram Genomics Academy - June 15-18, 2014

Engage in cutting-edge research while learning molecular biology and genomics concepts and skills. 

Hiram Polymers Academy - June 15-18, 2014

Discover not only the fascinating science behind polymers, but also their personal roles in present trends and future developments of these materials.

Hiram Neuroscience Academy - June 22-25, 2014

What gives dogs their acute sense of smell? Some breeds of dogs have ten times as many olfactory (sense of smell) cells than humans in their noses. This academy will explore the science beyond this concept.

Hiram Robotics Academy - July 7-10, 2014

Hiram faculty will lead high school students as they learn the Java programming language through robots.

Adventure Expeditions - July 18-20, 2014

Explore a personal connection to nature through hiking, camping, canoeing and kayaking expeditions into remote back country regions.
