Graduating? Time to make plans!
Four years goes by fast and all of a sudden, graduation is here.
Wondering what you should do now? Remember – your first job may be a chance for you to explore new interests and get initial experience. Experts predict you will have seven careers in your adult life so the one you are planning now is only your first destination. Most choose graduate school or a job search after graduation. You may want to "take a year off" and teach English overseas. We can help you with whatever you decide
Interested in what previous Hiram graduates have decided? See the Class of 2012 First Destination Survey.
We offer courses that can help you decide:
- STDV 611 "Steps to Grad School"
offered each spring
- STDV 611 "Putting Your Major to Work"
offered each semester
The text book for these courses is Dr. Katharine Brooks' You Majored in What? Mapping Your Way from Chaos to Career, which discusses the use of wandering maps to help plan careers. Learn more about Wandering Maps.
