Favorite thing about Hiram: I like that Hiram is a close-knit community and everyone is so open with each other. I always feel comfortable and at home here.

Year/Major: junior, Early Childhood Education major

Hometown: Akron, OH

Favorite thing about Hiram: Obviously, my favorite thing about Hiram is how much it feels like a community. You can go anywhere and make friends! I also really love all the opportunities that Hiram has for its students.

Born and raised in Akron, Ohio. I lived there for my whole life! I went to Akron Early College High School and was able to graduate with a High School Diploma, and an Associate of Art Degree from the University of Akron simultaneously. I knew I wanted to be a teacher ever since kindergarten, and I have been chasing that dream since them. I chose Hiram because of all the amazing things I heard about it through word of mouth. I never visited, I only applied and deposited! It was the best choice I've ever made in my life!

Favorite thing about Hiram:  My favorite thing about Hiram is the sense of community on campus. I am always saying hi to people walking by, talking to new people everyday, and have always felt welcomed! I love being surrounded by kind people.

My name is Allie and I love pigs! (Ask me about my pigs' names) Here at Hiram, I'm on the TABS staff, an RA, a soccer player, an eclectic scholar, and a part of the Ethics Bowl team. I really like painting, reading, scrapbooking, and laughing! After school, I plan on joining the Peace Corps and hopefully working in Rwanda, Africa. I really like getting to know new people, so don't be hesitant to chat with me or come to me for help!

Year/Major: sophomore, Accounting major

Hometown: The Woodlands, TX

Favorite thing about Hiram: My favorite thing about Hiram is the diversity of students from all around the globe and the very intelligent professors who make class interesting and intriguing.

My name is Santiago Montano and I will be going into my sophomore year at Hiram College! I have been a soccer player for most of my life and will be part of the Hiram Men's Soccer program and will be striving to win the NCAC conference. I used to be in band when I was younger (percussion) and still enjoy playing the piano today. I was born in the United States but my parents were born in Mendoza, Argentina and moved to Texas about 22 years ago. I have lived in Texas all my life up until going to Hiram College. Math is my favorite subject and I will be pursuing an accounting degree. This is my first year as an RA. My life revolves around family, friends, sports, and my two German Shepherds.

Year/Major: senior, History & Educational Studies major

Hometown: Kent, OH

Favorite thing about Hiram: My favorite thing about Hiram, is hands down how wonderful the staff is. I have a great relationship with my professors and coaches and I know that outside of class and practice I could rely on them for help with anything I might encounter. I look forward to another year with them.

I love my hometown of Kent! I grew up there with my three younger brothers (Luke, 19, Kyle, 10, and Dylan, 18) and our pet ball python named Monty. I work in the archives at Hiram and am a member of the women's lacrosse team. When I am not at school or at home I can be found at sea where I work as Deckhand and Engineer aboard Tall Ships on the east coast. After graduation I am planning to ship back out in the hopes that one day I will captain my own vessel and develop student programs for sail training organizations.

Year/Major: junior, Applied Computer Science & Management major

Hometown: Columbus, Ohio

Favorite thing about Hiram: The best part of Hiram is, was, and always will be, it's small close knit community. Without that, we're just another school and not an experience. The connections made here are ones that will exist for a very long time.

Focusing on real world experience and preparing for life outside college, I hold several student leadership positions around campus. As a third year Applied CS and Management major, I'm very focused in IT and communications. While it's unlikely you'll see me running around like chicken without a head...I've always got time to stop and chat. Feel free to wave me down!
