Integrated Environmental Studies

This major is designed for students who have earned a vocational or technical associates degree in green technology from an accredited community college.  The technical expertise gained through the associates degree will function as the student's area of concentration.  The major then builds on that knowledge through coursework in the area of environmental and natural sciences and communication (oral and written), to prepare the student to advance in her or his chosen field.  The capstone of the major is a project which draws upon and integrates the technical knowledge from the associates degree with the skills and knowledge gained at Hiram, to solve a real-world problem or examine a relevant issue from a new perspective.

Capstone

The required capstone project will include research and development of a paper related to your associates degree, which draws upon and integrates the skills and knowledge obtained at Hiram.  A public presentation of the capstone will be required.
