Nursing at Hiram

Why choose a career in nursing?

  • Studies predicted that by 2010 there would be a major shortage of registered nurses
  • This shortage is expected to grow to 1-million by 2020
  • Opportunities for nurses are nearly unlimited

Why nursing at Hiram?

We have…
  • A reputation for excellence in the liberal arts and sciences.
  • A nationally recognized biomedical humanities program
  • Six Centers of Excellence – all complimentary to the nursing program
  • Small classes
  • Professors who provide individual advisement
  • State-of-the-art facilities
  • Unique learning opportunities

Why

The nursing education system is currently unable to accommodate all academically qualified applicants. In 2005, admission to undergraduate nursing programs grew by 20 percent - but Ohio nursing programs were so crowded that prospective students were turned away.

Hiram is helping
meet that need.

Nursing is an evolving profession with opportunities for growth. Hours are flexible. The salary is competitive. And the areas of practice are numerous and rewarding.
