Faculty Positions in Nursing
The Hiram College Department of Nursing invites applications for a full-time faculty position in a new and uniquely distinct BSN Nursing Program. Appointment begins Spring Semester (January) ’09 and may be to either a tenure or non-tenure track position. The faculty member will assume duties, responsibilities and privileges consistent with rank and type of appointment [tenure or non-tenure] regarding teaching, scholarship and citizenship. Successful candidates will be responsible for implementation of an innovative nursing curriculum within the Hiram 12-3 Semester Plan, advising and instructing students to become professional nurses, and particularly for tenured faculty, advancing the discipline of nursing. A primary assignment of this position is to provide instruction in foundational laboratory and clinical nursing courses. Hiram College, located in the picturesque Western Reserve region of Northeastern Ohio, is recognized as one of the best liberal arts colleges in the US, offering a strong tradition in the natural sciences and humanities with intimate learning and a global outreach.
Minimum qualifications include current licensure as a registered nurse with a minimum of two years experience in the practice of professional nursing, and a Masters degree with a major in nursing. An earned doctoral degree in nursing or related field is preferred, and is required for a tenure track appointment. Prior teaching experience is also preferred. Rank is commensurate with education & experience.
