We strongly encourage you to experiment in your course choices. Many of the topics available for study here were not even an option for you in high school. A few majors on campus (such as nursing and education) demand close attention to major requirements from the start. Most, however, are flexible enough that you should have room to explore. Many times electives will open the door to a new major.
Classes in the core curriculum, major area of study and electives often overlap, meeting two of these categories at once. Most students can expect that each category should consume about one-third of their classes at Hiram.
