Transfer Students and Veterans
Transfer students may apply in one of three ways:
Applicants must also include transcripts, an essay and $25 application fee. Students who have less than one year of full-time college credit are required to submit a Secondary School Report form, high school transcript and scores on the ACT or SAT I Assessment.
Courses Hiram generally accepts for credit are those in which students have earned a "C" or better and which are comparable to courses offered at Hiram. No limit is placed on the number of credits that may be transferred to Hiram; however, students must complete a minimum of 45 hours at Hiram to receive a degree.
Transfer students are evaluated in a holistic manner. Admission is based on the quality of transfer coursework with a minimum college GPS of 2.75 the standards.
Hiram College’s individual and holistic approach to admission review is well-suited for those with a military background. As with transfer students, personnel in the Office of the Registrar evaluate documents submitted by the student and determine equivalency to Hiram courses. Courses specific to those required in the nursing curriculum require additional evaluation by the nursing program director and/or faculty associated with specific courses, to determine equivalency and awarding of credit.
Please note: Transfer students and veterans who have been enrolled in nursing courses at other colleges or universities must schedule an appointment with the program director.
