Biomimicry Club

Purpose

The Biomimicry Club is established to provide knowledge, skills and information to participants about the upcoming, pertinent need and goals for the field of Biomimicry.

Chemistry Club

Purpose: To promote student awareness of and the interest in chemistry through campus activities, educational activities, and outreach events, to provide an opportunity to meet people within the chemistry field, and to tour different graduate universities, industries, and other activities where chemistry is used

Chemistry club is a group for anyone with interest and respect for the field of chemistry, regardless of major. Activities include bringing speakers to campus, internship workshops for those interested in chemistry research, preparing for graduate school in the physical sciences and an annual mole day celebration every October 23. Everyone interested is encouraged to attend.

Education Club

Purpose: The purpose of the education club is to promote the welfare and ongoing education of both children and adults to coordinate and facilitate ongoing one-time educational programs fir Hiram students, and to work cooperatively with others organizations on campus or at other colleges and universities to provide opportunities for conferences, speakers and community service in the area of education.

Ethics Bowl Team

Purpose: Ethics Bowl meets to prepare for the annual ethics bowl debate competitions. This preparation develops abilities for ethical analysis as well as practices skills in presentation and debate. Each week students meet to discuss the 15 cases provided for the competition and collaboratively develop ethical positions and arguments to support them.

Institute of Management Accountants

Purpose: The purpose of the IMA: Hiram Chapter is to enrich the skills of its members through providing leadership roles, interacting with accounting professionals and following current issues relative to the accounting profession.

Investment Club

Purpose: The Investment Club was established to manage a cash portfolio of approximately $100,000. The Investment Club members develop investment strategies and purchase and sell stocks as their strategies dictate. The Investment Club is in competition throughout the country with other Investment Clubs. Additionally, the Club invites stockbrokers, money managers, investment bankers, etc. to speak to members on current stock market matters and their career.

Medicus

Purpose: To prepare pre-health students for their future careers as health care professionals through a series of discussions, speakers, volunteering experiences, and off campus events.

Medicus is a group of students interested exploring the allied health field as a career and serves to promote the field of medicine in the Hiram community. It brings speakers to campus and sponsors trips to hospitals, medical schools and other programs in order to view first-hand the options associated with the health field.
