The Hiram College women’s soccer team dropped a non-conference game at Heidelberg on Saturday afternoon by a 2-1 score.
The Terriers drop to 5-4-1 on the season, while the Student Princes improve to 3-5-1.
Heidelberg jumped out to an early 1-0 lead, scoring in the 10th minute.
The Student Princes added another goal at the 31:43 mark, when Kristen Keenan found the back of the net.
But Hiram responded just 35 seconds later, with sophomore Katelyn Mauch (Parma/Normady) scoring her first goal of the season.
Hiram would be unable to find the back of the net in the second half.
Junior goalie Kailie Reed (Wadsworth) made three saves for the Terriers and drops to 5-4-1 on the season.
Hiram outshot Heidelberg 16-13 in the game and also took four corners, compared to one for the Student Princes.
Hiram will play again on Wednesday, when it travels to take on Otterbein in a road contest at 7:00 p.m.
